# Authentication

Doctors Index provides a free public, read-only REST API and MCP server. No account, API key, bearer token, payment or OAuth flow is required. Do not send personal credentials.

REST: GET /api/v1. MCP: POST /mcp with Content-Type: application/json and Accept: application/json, text/event-stream. See [instructions](/agents.md).

No write scopes, appointment booking or access to private patient records are offered.
